Identity: Chosen

John chair
Over the past couple of years God has placed a verse in my heart and mind through many different sources.
It is found in Psalms 46:10. “Be still and know that I am God”.
I have treasured the time immersing myself in learning more of who God is and what He wants me to know about Him. He is the Almighty God, the creator of the universe, all-knowing, all-powerful, loving and kind, merciful, gracious and this God, this amazing God has chosen me to be his daughter.

He chose to create me and He chose to send His son to die for me. He walks before me, next to me and lives in me. He guides, teaches, encourages, convicts and challenges me. He is ever present. He never leaves my side. He has a good and loving plan for my life.
How do I know He chose me? Because He tells me so in His Word.

In John 15:16, He says, “You did not choose me, but I chose you.”

Now for the next question. Why did He choose me? What is there that I can do for this awesome God who loves me. Again in John 15:16  That question is answered. We are chosen and appointed to go and bear fruit. In Ephesians 2:10  He says “For we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
From the moment God first planned to create me He had plans for me to accomplish. He created me for relationship with Him, to bring glory to Him in all things and to love Him by obeying Him.

My husband of 51 years, Don, and I have attended Grace Chapel for over 15 years.  We have two daughters and with their families, McCourts and Milligans, they also attend Grace.  Our six grandchildren and our two precious foster grandchildren light up our lives.  Over the years, Proverbs 3:5-6 have been a guiding verse for us.
