P3: Transformation

P3: Psalms, Proverbs, and Prophets

I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry.

He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire;
He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.

He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.

Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord.

Psalm 40: 1-4

I love interior design.  Can you relate?  You know – when you have the big reveal and you witness transformation of what once was an uninviting space converting into a complete overhaul?  I’m also an HGTV junkie and even more so a Joanna Gaines fanatic.  [I may or may not be going to Waco, TX in October.  I’m just saying].

But here’s the deal, ladies: having been in the interior design field for years, I can tell you that transformation doesn’t come easily.  It takes work.  A lot of work.  My mom and I used to have an interior design business that was fully operated out of our passion for hearth and home.  The joy of seeing delight on the faces of women who would come home to an entirely new space for their family and friends to relax was truly life-giving.  But it didn’t come overnight.  Each project required long hours of creative problem solving, planning, pouring over samples, sourcing and ultimately presenting the space.

As a result, I’m hyper aware of the parallel of the transformation of our faith as well.  It doesn’t happen overnight.  We do not want to live in the miry pit of where we once were.  We desire an upgrade and a beautiful change in every aspect of our lives, don’t we?  By continuing to exercise our faith muscle, we start experiencing the beauty of our feet on The Rock.  We hear the new song that He puts in our mouth.  And the coolest part is how many others will be witness to the transformation as well.  God doesn’t ask us to hoard it.  Instead, He desires for us to live it out and “…many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in Him.”  If you ask me, that’s worth patiently waiting for.

However she isn’t writing it herself, so…Sandii is a passionate lover of Jesus who spills His love over everyone she meets. She is wife of 23 years to Jeff, who is pretty awesome too! She is mother to two amazing people, Christian (20) and Delaney (16), who make this world a better place. She is friend to many who are blessed by her gifts for listening whole-heartedly, encouraging with the heart of Jesus, and bringing joy in all circumstances.
