Your life matters.
No one else carries your unique blend of traits, talents, life experiences, and perspectives. Even your fingerprints are one of a kind. God willed you into existence because he desired and needed someone exactly like you for this time in history and for a particular purpose. You are on this earth for a limited time to influence and make a difference, as only you can do.
In a world of superstars, it’s easy to feel mediocre and insignificant. We compare ourselves to others, seeing their attributes and diminishing our own. As we do this, we devalue ourselves, not seeing the vital role that we are purposed for. This can cause us to slip into complacency and compromise, as easily as we can drift off to sleep. When we believe such a lie about ourselves, we rob this world of a precious gift, which is us and what we have to offer.
Once we understand who we are and whose we are, it changes everything!
We are daughters of the living God, and were created in his very image. Our heavenly father values us so highly and loves us so deeply that he created a world for us to enjoy and gave us authority over it. When the earth fell under the curse of sin, he sent Jesus to free us from its destructive hold on us. On our behalf, he laid down his life to strip the enemy of his evil power over us. He gives us hope and a future, reveals truth to us, heals us, protects us, provides for us, makes us his creative partners, shares his love, his power and his wisdom with us. Since he spared no expense for us, we must be very valuable, indeed!
Jesus said, “Freely you have received, so freely give.”
Step into who you were created to be and make your mark on this world. No one can do it exactly like you. You can reach people that no one else can. If we work together, pool our strengths, and quit focusing on what we lack or who we disagree with, we can make a huge impact, and do the very thing we were created for! What are your dreams, your passions? God placed them in your heart for a purpose, so go after them. You’re never too young or too old. You are needed. So let’s be the body of Christ together, and go change the world one life at a time!
